The Alpha's Return

Chapter 14 - His Own Hideout

"Where do you think you can possibly go? If the marquess if really after you, then nowhere in the northern hemisphere is really safe for you anyway..", Michael retorted.

"I have eaten more salt than you have eaten rice, child. Do you really think that I don\'t have my own hideout? My own base. I came here because you were the only person I could trust, and you have lived up to your job. But, now you can no longer help me. Why would I stay here? Isn\'t it pointless?", Lucas said as he kept walking towards the exit.

Michael shook his head and he also turned away to go back to sleep. "All of you. Having quite some fun at this spectacle huh? Go back to sleep.", he told everyone who was here.

"Who is that person, Boss? He called you a child and you didn\'t even react.", one of the men asked Michael.

"To him, we are all basically children. Now, let\'s go back to sleep. I am tired of this charade. Someone, clean this up. It\'s quite a sight he left us.", he said to some men who were still loitering around.

The men grumbled as they got to work. Michael left the huge gathering with a frown on his face.

On Lucas\' side

"What the hell are you thinking? You could have waited for just a little more time, and you would have maybe caught a cab in the daylight. Why would you want to go to your secret hideout in the middle of the night?", Fenrir asked Lucas.

"They knew that I was supposed to be injured. If they knew that I was also supposed to be alive, that means that chances are, the marquess knows about you. There are many people in this world who want your powers, who want to be me. The Marquess might just be one of them.", Lucas said.

"Still didn\'t answer my question.", Fenrir said.

"If she knows that I am the red wolf, she would know better than to just give Peter some wolfsbane and put a hand through my chest. She would have made preparations for god knows how long. Who knows what Peter could have mixed in all the coffees that he gave me.", Lucas snarled.

"That\'s why they say that coffees are bad for health.", Fenrir snickered.

"Let\'s just get to the bunker. It should be a quick jog from here.", Lucas shrugged as he started jogging. After a while, Lucas was drenched with sweat and literally in the middle of nowhere. He looked around and smelled the tracks on the ground. Then he looked to the right, where there was a small trail that lead into the forest. He took that trail and went deep into the thicket.

After a while of pushing the shrubs and moving through the dense forest, he got to a small opening. The moonlight shone right through the opening of the trees. Lucas took a few moments to bask upon the light, and then he bent down. He closed his fist and reopened it.

Ksssk. Claws came out. He used them to scratch all the vegetation on the floor, to reveal concrete. In the middle of the concrete, was a slab of metal, and a single key hole. He took out the key that he got from the locker and put it in the keyhole. The key fit perfectly. He turned it and heard a satisfying little click.

"Welcome, Fenrir, to our home for the rest of the month.", Lucas said as he swung the metal open with his bare hands. He went down the ladder that was below and closed the huge metal door.
