Chapter 663 In My Past (Part 28)

Fire clashed with metal, resulting in a chaotic cluster of mana waves billowing everywhere, causing the palace to go up in a sea of flames while broken sections turned to metal.

Glob! Glob! Glob!

Part of the metal turned into liquid, gaining shape to become soldiers that rushed at Zaira. In response, Zaira conjured Yifa\'s body, placing her Golden Finger into it as Yifa leapt onto the metal soldiers and devoured them.

Following that, she burped, spitting out murky sludge monsters that rushed at Arnark, emanating a feeling of disaster, as if they were beings only available on desolate lands.

The sludge monsters melted through the metal soldiers while they turned everything they came into contact with into metal; both sides tore into each other.

Arnark stood atop a broken pillar, glaring at Zaira as he bellowed, "You have something that doesn\'t belong to you."

"Return it."

"That\'s a strange thing to say," Zaira smirked in response, "Considering you\'re the one that bestowed it upon me in the first place, Magister."

In response to her taunt, Arnark\'s face only frowned in response, raising his sword when immediately, spikes jutted out of the ground, impaling her.

"Gah!" Zaira coughed out blood as she noticed a large hole in her stomach, panting in response while observing the figure of Yifa turn into a kebab with her sludge monsters. The Golden Finger—Yifa—within the conjured body returned to her mind space.

\'This is pretty troublesome.\' She muttered, realising that the other party wasn\'t someone she could face casually. After all, he was backed by the entities that pretty much ruled everything.

She then observed her surroundings, thinking, \'It seems the Saint of Calamity has fled long ago. Does he have no intentions to fight alongside me?\'

Right as that thought appeared in her mind, she frowned, \'Wait, how come no Demon rushed here until now? This is the heart of the Felera Empire. The strongest of Demons should have rushed to protect their Demon God by now…\'

She condensed a shield, protecting against a massive twenty-metre-long sword that slammed into her, the rebound sending her flying into the wall that cracked in response.

Her body was that of a Mage, hence weak, failing to endure such a beating. She was on the verge of death now, unable to move anymore. Staring at the figure of Arnark preparing another attack to end her life, thoughts clashed in her mind like a storm as she analysed all the details, right from the very beginning.

The calmness expressed by the Saint of Calamity, a trade concluded within a minute, a beneficial exchange for both sides, a world for them to live in, Arnark\'s arrival, the disappearance of the Saint of Calamity, and the lack of any Demon Soldiers in the vicinity.

Her thoughts clashed as her eyes curled up in a smile, \'I see, that makes sense. I wasn\'t even in danger in the first place. So, this is what you meant by invincibility.\'

She smirked, staring at Arnark, "It was a good attempt."

Roar!

Zaira gazed at the figure of Khun approaching the destroyed castle while carrying Gilthru, Lorbordo, and the Elf on his back, hurrying towards them. Her eyes shifted upon the pale-faced Elf that was trembling, as if she had witnessed something deemed absolutely impossible.

\'Indeed, divination is pretty powerful.\' Zaira thought, laughing as she gazed at the figure of Arnark and the approaching Hero Party, "Being a Hero is an exhilarating experience, right? You five are supposed to be the best of the best that this continent has to offer, the pinnacle of selective breeding, attained through the greatest of pedigree and talent brought together by fate. But,"

Her eyes curled up as she coughed out blood, "Things will no longer be the same. Even someone not blessed by fate will rise against all odds and collapse your notion of the world, and your common sense."

"That…will become the new notion of your world and the various worlds out there." Her laughter echoed as mysteriously, it resounded in the ears of the Demons too that were stationed a couple of kilometres away in secret by the Saint of Calamity, "The system that you have created all along will be rendered obsolete."

Bam!

A flying sword pierced through her forehead, hacking her body into two. But Zaira\'s laughter cackled around as her mind space fused into the world gifted to her by the Saint of Calamity, becoming one.

Following that, the mysterious world simply disappeared, unable to be sensed even by the Metal Elemental Spirit created by Magister.

"Arnark!" Gilthru rushed into the scene, staring at the pained face of Arnark which was a bloody mess, on the verge of death. "Wait, I\'ll save you!"

He took out a potion and poured it over Arnark, watching it vaporise in response, failing to even put a dent in the damage, "Dammit, why is it like this?"

Bang!

He glared at the Metal Elemental Spirit, activating his Metal Mana as he touched it, causing his hand to turn metallic in response as he bellowed, understanding that it was the cause that was killing Arnark, intending to extract it.

"Keuk!" He felt a searing pain but when he recalled his experiences as a Tamed Beast, having fought against Elementalists, he closed his eyes, raising his senses to the extreme as he focused upon Arnark\'s mana signature, noticing the mysterious mass of entities swirling around within it, causing it to be what it was.

It was a swirling mass of destructive power akin to the sun, enough to blind any mana-wielding entity as Gilthru was shocked, feeling sympathy at Arnark, \'You\'ve…been enduring this pain all along while being controlled by them?\'

\'You\'ve been killed unfairly once. I won\'t allow you to die!\' Cursing in anger, Gilthru bellowed as suddenly, his mana blasted forth, rapidly morphing forms as it was elevated in quality. For a moment, it felt like his senses expanded to a terrifying extent as Gilthru broke past his limit, becoming a Pseudo-Saint.

For a moment, he felt a strange entity behind him, a manifestation of Metal Mage and Wind Warrior, its humanoid hands gently brushing past him as he was enlightened.

Profession!

It was the sign that he was partially acknowledged by the Warrior and Mage Professions, allowing him to become a Pseudo-Saint; using the moment he gained that acknowledgement, Gilthru yanked with all his might, extracting the Metal Elemental Spirit as he bound it to himself, creating the second of this world.

A Relic!
