Godlike Player in a Game-Like World

Chapter 70 Third Match Starts

\'\'I got very close. If I can craft this item, I can extend my lifespan even more. I might even become immortal. Kahkahkah, \'\' Herman abruptly stopped laughing and continued anxiously.

\'\'However, I have a bad feeling that something will go horribly wrong; I hope these idiots don\'t mess things up. He was already stupid when he was alive, and he appears even more so now. \'\'

Then, he reached into his dimensional storage and pulled out a very old-looking book covered in black patched leather. He mumbled as he opened a page and read. "I need to further develop these fallen soldiers. Their lifespan and level of intelligence are both very lacking. \'\'

Herman struggled to read the pages of the book, the majority of which had been erased, before abruptly turning his gaze to the receding darkness. He muttered after gazing there for a while and failing to see anything. \'\'I think I\'m getting too paranoid. I\'d better get some rest. \'\'

\'His intuition seems to be quite strong. But he still shouldn\'t have noticed me. Or are my stealth skills deteriorating? \'  Raydon pondered as he watched Herman\'s silhouette fade away from his hiding spot.

So far, he had infiltrated without being detected. He had faith in his own concealment abilities, but Herman\'s sense of his presence and his gaze toward his location made him doubt it.

\'He should probably have an investigative-type item or body enchantment. \'  Raydon said to himself as he turned away from his hiding place. He had only come here to observe, and he had obtained the information he required.

\'Now it\'s just a matter of time and planning.\'  He muttered while wearing that twisted smile as he walked through the dark veil of the night with a secrecy that not even the moonlight could reveal.

It was already midnight when Raydon returned to his neighborhood. He walked inside his home after opening the door. He noticed a difference at that moment. There was a faint perfume odor in the room.

\'\'I believe Belicia came while I was away. \'\'

Raydon soon discovered a bag of food and drink on the table, along with a note. He took the note and began reading it with interest. Belicia had something to discuss with him, but she was disappointed that she couldn\'t find him at home and that she wouldn\'t be able to stop by for a while due to recent events with Tika.

\'\'I suppose Tika reported what happened, so Belicia must have received some sort of punishment, huh? \'\'  Raydon pondered, putting his hand on his chin.

"What could she possibly want to discuss with me? Perhaps she discovered that I had saved her brother that day. It doesn\'t matter, though; she would have found out sooner or later. \'\'

Raydon treated it as though it were nothing unusual. After all, this was where Belicia\'s brother lived, so she was familiar with the area. It would be absurd if Belicia, a battle maid, was unaware of this. Additionally, Raydon also wished for her to be aware of it.

"Since Belicia isn\'t here, I can move forward with my plans faster. But first… \'\'

Raydon said while checking the system panel. The next match would start hours later. He made the decision to lie down and rest because whatever he was planning was unquestionably of less importance than the upcoming match.

He lay in his bed, as he always did, and slowly fell asleep as he reflected on the events of the day.

Raydon once more opened his eyes to the system message. In anticipation of a brand-new adventure, he was about to respond "yes" to the system\'s message when he recalled something.

\'\'I almost started the match naked again. \'\' Awkwardly grinning, Raydon began to put his items on.

He didn\'t even need to wear the items to use the skills once he had bounded the items to himself. To use their skills, he only needed to keep the items in his dimensional storage, but the extra defense they offered was always crucial. Besides, Raydon wasn\'t all that keen on walking around naked.

Raydon hurriedly put his items on. Unlike the previous match, there was no glitzy pauldron shining on his shoulder this time; instead, he was wearing knee pads that were metallic in color and had an embroidered horse image on them.

When Raydon was prepared, he grinned and exclaimed happily.

\'\'Yes.\'\'

And he set off into an entirely new world and adventure.

When Raydon\'s vision returned, he was met with a brown-dense landscape, as opposed to the previous snowy and white view of his surroundings.

Everything in the vicinity appeared to be made of stone and earth. Furthermore, the terrain seemed to be so uneven that the numerous small and large hills in the field of view prevented the eye from seeing very far.

Raydon thought as he turned to his right and left and noticed that it was encircled by high mountains. \'I think I\'m in a huge canyon. \'

That was correct; what he saw as mountains around him were actually plains, but because he was inside a massive rift, inside a canyon, they appeared to be mountains.

Raydon turned around after looking around and saw a woman and three men.

No one was looking at him with disgusted eyes this time. They only give him a disdainful glance and turn their heads because of his seemingly mismatched items. Clearly, even having an item on him made a significant difference.

Raydon checked the team information from the system.
